About the Book

The Muslims being the biggest minority in India have a special place in Indian society. The present study on selected population of Bhopal Muslims explores in detail their demographic profile and socio-economic status. Based on these studies, inferences can be drawn on their population growth and various factors responsible for their social and educational backwardness as well as other related problems. These findings may also suggest some remedial measures on all these aspects for their overall upliftment in the present day society. An improvement in their status would not only imply a positive response to present day needs but hasten the process of Muslim communitys integration into the mainstream of Indias modernization efforts.
