About the Book
Feminism in Search of an Identity: The Indian Context is a collection of articles which aim at identifying the theoretical possibilities within the Indian tradition, for creating a new sensibility to understand feminism within the Indian context. Scholars from various fields in humanities have contributed to this volume. These contributions serve as fruitful instances of ongoing dialogue with the tradition which is critical and appreciative at the same time.

Meena Kelkar taught at the Department of Philosophy, University of Pune for a number of years. She has to her credit two books on feminism, Bharatiya Stree: Samkalpana aani Pratima (Marathi) and Subordination of Woman: A New Perspective (English).
Deepti Gangavane teaches at the Department of Philosophy, University of Pune. She has to her credit a book titled Dialogues of Reasonableness.
