National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 lays out a visionary roadmap for inclusive development by aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and advocating integrated policy approaches. The NEP seeks to cultivate an inclusive educational ecosystem that fosters holistic development. It integrates sustainability, environmental awareness, and global citizenship into the curriculum, thereby addressing not only SDG 4 (Quality Education) but also intersecting with broader goals such as poverty eradication, gender equality, and environmental sustainability.
Divided into four thematic sections, the book initiates critical discussions on inclusive development, underlining the significance of the NEP and its alignment with global developmental objectives. It delves into the empowerment of marginalised groups, innovation in education, participatory approaches, and the integration of health and environmental concerns into sustainable development strategies.
The volume also examines the impacts of inclusive and equitable education on women, Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and other marginalised communities. By analysing the intersections of education, health, environment, and social inclusion, the book provides valuable insights for scholars, educators, policymakers, and practitioners working towards inclusive and sustainable societies. It will be particularly useful to researchers and students in the fields of educational studies, development studies, sustainable development, sociology, history, and political science.
