About the Book

The book on Journeys in Social Work Education in India: Emerging Reflections comprises articles by 17 retired social work educators in India. These narratives of their career journeys in social work education, capture individual background, approach, experiences and implications, in the context of opportunities and challenges, and learning and contributing to the profession, showing a dialectical relationship between the self and the profession towards reciprocal developments of both. The book documents individual histories of rich and varied experiences that converge with the history and strengths of social work education, providing continuity from valuable retrospective memoirs, to lessons learnt, to prospective directions for social work education.
