About the Book

The present book is a comprehensive attempt covering socio-temporal aspects of labour absorption at the backdrop of Andhra Pradesh economy. While the robustness and consistency of the trends in labour absorption due to various factors are captured by the analysis across time points, the regional analysis questions the relevance of blanket policies of employment generation. In the process it questions some of the widely held and generalized views with regard to the impact of green revolution on labour absorption in agriculture in the regional context.
